Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) July 12, 2013
Prudential PenFed Realtys Alexandria office began its series of art shows in 2010 to show support for the local Del Ray Artisans and charities close to the community. These quarterly themed events, hosted by Prudential PenFed Realty at their 300 N. Washington Street, Alexandria, Va., location began in July of 2010 and feature the artwork of the Del Ray Artisans accompanied by wine and hors doeuvres, fundraising and the ability for the public to meet the artists and purchase their artwork.
The first event of 2012 was held in March with the theme, Artist Warriors Adventures which benefited the Organization for Autism Research. The artwork focused on the inner survivalist and warrior imagination. Special guest Nina Tisaras mosaic artwork was on display as well.
In June of 2012 the office hosted an event to benefit the Organization of Autism for Research. The art show was dubbed “Childhood Memories,” and featured works by local artists that was inspired by their childhoods. The event also commemorated the Virginia Art Commissions’ Minds Wide Open, a celebration of children and the arts. Tisara made a repeat visit with her mosaic style artwork. Close to $ 500 in donations were raised for this community charity event.
Later in the year, the office hosted an event, Spread a Little Sunshine, that was a silent auction and art show designed to raise money for the Sunshine Kids Foundation; an organization supporting children with cancer. Approximately $ 5,000 was raised at the event, and the artwork on display at the show was created by the artists from the Del Ray Artisans Center.
